Put your paws together for our newest client pairings:
August is Olivia’s successor dog and will help her with balance assistance. August is a public access dog and will help Olivia unleash independence.
Max is a successor dog at Outside The Box, a local adult day facility. Max will assist the participants with their curriculum lessons, pass out lesson materials, provide “visits” and “laps,” and accompany them on life skills outings.
Dolly is Kevin’s successor dog. She will help him with retrieving/picking up dropped items, opening/closing doors in the home, pushing public automatic door buttons, turning lights on/off, and getting help when needed.
Yogi will work at Charles Reed Elementary School in Plainfield, IL. He will provide reading support and social support using bridge cues like bump, bow, secret, reading flash cards, visit, and hug.
Brady will work with Crystal at Jackson Creek Middle School in Bloomington. He will assist students with emotional/social learning and life lessons and serve as a conduit between students and staff.
These pairs recently completed Team Training—five days of in-depth training that taught them how to form a partnership and work with their new service and facility dogs.
We invite you to support these new partnerships by making a gift in their honor.
Your generous donation will help us pay for Team Training, which costs ICAN nearly $1,000 per pair.
This amount enabled ICAN the opportunity to provide proper gear for the service dog, meals for clients and handlers, training supplies and so much more.
Your donation will help unleash their abilities and give them a welcoming start to the beginning of their journeys together.
