Emily & Morey
Well here we are, another month flown by. Everyone has been so busy. I know there's a lot to do to get things wrapped up for the winter. Things have been hectic on our end trying to make sure we have all the details planned out for our upcoming December graduation. There are so many things to do just with the decorations. Sorry that this month's blog is rather short - I've been so busy training and rolling in the leaves that I haven't had nearly enough time to write!
The girls found a baby bird that couldn't fly in the yard today. My handler, Mindy and a couple of other girls were all worried about it and decided to bring it inside and try to take care of it. I thought it was a great idea until I found out
Today I was tricked into taking a bath. Now don't get me wrong, I love water. I just like it on my own terms. I can do without the cotton swabs in my ears, make everything sound muffled and far away, the shampoos you choose to lather us up with, and people peeking in and watching me get put through this. I mean, where's the privacy?
Usually things are placed here and there and Mindy walks me through those objects. Not too hard - but today, there are not items placed around. Instead, it's a whole gym full of people eating what you call Popcorn! It smelled nothing like OUR Popcorn. This was a very yummy smell and it was EVERYWHERE I looked! Laying here, laying there, people chopping on it all over. My senses are in overload!
Me and my new handler, Mindy at dog art day! We are a wee bit lopsided!
Monday, June 22nd
Hello everybody! I want you all to know after my vacation and saying goodbye to my dear friend Angela, and meeting my new handler, Mindy, that I am adjusting well, and I'm back...
When we got there, Joni opened the car door and all my senses were on overload. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, smelling and feeling under my paws! There were all these really different looking animals. Joni told me they were called bunnies, farm cats and horses.
Something was VERY different about this visit though. First, I saw these little birds that ,Joni called finches, inside this big cage - much bigger than my crate and they were just making all kinds of chirping noises. And then, I saw these furry four legged creatures walking around on the patio looking at me through the glass
The puppies are finally here - all 12 of them! Beautiful Golden Retrievers just like my mom, Jamie! They are so cute and fluffy, in fact, they remind me of cotton balls and they are as curious with their noses as I am! And they wobble around a lot too because their feet are still pretty short!
Right now I wish I could go outside and lay in one of those round blue baby pools or better yet, be floating on a raft at my friend, Joanie's, pool!
I decided to start off by just sticking my paws in the water to get a little comfortable. Woof! This isn't too bad. I'm still standing and nothing bad has happened to me yet...I think I can do this!
